At Wagging Tails we offer a six week puppy course, with a maximum of eight puppies per class. We have two class helpers who are both experienced dog owners having both attended the puppy classes at one time or another with their own dogs.

We will only take eight puppies per class so we have time to work with every owner with each exercise. This also means a good quality of training for the owner and we do not get a room full of barking puppies!

We do recommend that our clients book early as we do get over subscribed, and hate to turn anyone away.

Here are some frequently asked questions that might help you :

When should I think about training my puppy ?

At Wagging Tails we take them as soon as they have had their second vaccination and the OK from the vet.

What about the fact that some people are told not to start training until six months ?

Just think of all the bad habits your puppy can have picked up by then. Clicker Training is all about positive training, what could be better for a puppy than to learn by having fun !!

My puppy is very shy and I don't think it could cope with other puppies. What should I do ?

It is vital that a puppy is allowed to hide if it wishes. We have had numerous puppies that are shy but we let them take things at their own pace and they will join in when they feel more confident.

Do you let the puppies have free play ?

Yes we do but not until about week four or five once each puppy has been assessed and then we only let a few off at a time not the whole class.  The bouncy puppies are paired up with other bouncy boys and girls and shy / smaller puppies will play with puppies that are of a similar temperament.
